The environment around us is fleeting. Things change with every second, and they may never be the same again. I was lucky enough to grow up in a place like Northern California, surrounded by towering redwoods and sprawling mountains. The scents of the Western Forests fill me with the tranquility and comfort of home. In my series, Locational, I explore various ways to visually memorialize the places that have given me such peace. Each piece draws inspiration from specific locations, utilizing photos I have collected throughout my time in the Western United States. Creating this series has granted me more time to sit with each location - to recall what it felt like to be engulfed by the scents and sounds of the West. A memorialization of the place I call home.
